I started throwing Egg Freezing parties as a fun way for people to learn about fertility. There is humor. There is honest talk. Mostly, I throw them because I want every person to be empowered with knowledge about their fertility. It’s really as simple as that.
Egg Freezing parties are safe and surgery-free gatherings of women (and sometimes men) to learn more about the process of freezing your eggs (or sperm). Beyond that, we talk in general about fertility and how every woman (and man) can take a proactive role in preserving theirs.
Most importantly, you will learn about clear steps you can take after leaving the party. This is not merely an information session with great drinks and yummy food, this is meant to inspire action! (Although, I do hope that you meet some new friends and leave with a full belly. I’m a good party host, or so I’ve been told.)
I started Egg Freezing parties for a simple reason. Older women were in my office struggling with fertility only to wish they had known more when they were younger.
Had someone told them to get their fertility levels checked and to consider the option of preserving their eggs they most certainly would have.
I don’t want to hear years from now that women wished they’d known more about their fertility. This is what drives me to throw parties to make sure everyone knows they have options! I’m an egg rescuer, egg whisperer and fertility myth buster!
I want to reduce regret. And it starts by educating all women, especially those in their 20s and 30s TODAY about the proactive stance they can take for their own fertility.
Join the Egg Freezing ClassAge is the number one clear enemy of fertility.
That’s not to say I’m a naysayer of older women getting pregnant. Quite the opposite. I helped a woman in her 50s conceive. I’ll always be the ultimate fertility cheerleader. I bring hope to life for all people who want to become parents. I solve problems. That’s what I do.
Yet, what kind of doctor would I be if I didn’t look for ways to get ahead of infertility?
The more we know, the more we can plan accordingly. With some exceptions, this is generally true across all facets of life. Knowledge, when interpreted and applied appropriately, is truly powerful.
I’m curious, how much do you know about your own fertility?
I’m not talking about what you think you know based on your mom’s ability to get pregnant or what your friend’s experience has been. I’m talking about specific and scientifically validated information about you.
Do you have a baseline awareness of your fertility? Have you reviewed lab results with a fertility specialist?
If you answered no, you are not alone. For some odd reason, our society has shielded women from knowing that we can get our fertility levels checked.
Egg Freezing parties are just the start to lifting the veil on this taboo topic. Taboo no longer, ladies! But talk is cheap. This we know. Action is what truly matters, and that’s exactly what I want to inspire in each of you.
When we get our fertility levels checked as often as we get a pap smear we can make smarter decisions about our plans to conceive. There’s absolutely no reason this can’t be done, and starting today.
To be clear, I am advocating lab tests in combination with conversation with a real live human being (preferably a fertility specialist) to interpret these results. Numbers alone are not the full story, nor are you alone a number. Health is complex, and so is your fertility story.
Maybe you fall into one of these camps:
- You want to know your fertility health and what it means for getting pregnant.
- You’re not sure if you want kids, and so will address your fertility if and when you feel differently about starting a family.
- You have a big family and your mom didn’t have problems getting pregnant so the thought of getting your fertility levels checked hasn’t crossed your mind.
Three very different people, yet all can take the same action: get their levels checked.
(And yes, even the woman that’s not sure if she wants kids. Trust me. How you feel and what you want can change over time. I’ve seen it first hand and preserving optionality is a very good thing, especially when it comes to your fertility).
Know where you are, become aware of your options, and be proactive in your own fertility health.
I throw egg freezing parties because I want every woman to be empowered about their fertility. It’s really as simple as that.
